Club History
Aberfan Canoe Club was founded in 1974. We are an active , friendly, family club based in Aberfan, South Wales, UK. The club is actively involved in canoeing at all levels from recreational to international competition. We are affiliated to the Welsh Canoeing Association (WCA) and the British Canoe Union (BCU) and have over 25 experienced, nationally qualified coaches who give their time free of charge. The aim of the club is to promote and develop canoeing in the area.

Pool Sessions
We run a weekly pool session on Fridays all year round for people to learn and develop their skills in a warm safe environment. The sessions are held at Aberfan Pool, Ynysowen Community Centre, Pantglas Road, Aberfan, CF48 4QE (A map is available here).

Pool session times are  : 7pm - 9pm

£2.50 per session members - equipment and instruction provided free of charge

All you need to bring is your towel and bathers, the club will provide all the equipment you require.
Whether you're young or old, have never sat in a boat before or an experienced paddler looking for someone to paddle with, you are welcome to join us. All that we ask is that you are able to swim the length of the pool wearing  a buoyancy aid.
